A learner laid a complaint with South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) over bullying and racism at Groblersdal Academy.
Tokelo Mogane who is former learner at Groblersdal Academy said teachers at the school are hurling racial slurs at learners and beat them up for no reason.
Mogane said during her time at the school, the teachers would also give learners low marks intentionally, and pass remarks that black people can’t pass with such a high marks.
“I took a stand to lay a complaint with the South African Human Rights Commission because more learners are subjected to the same treatment but they are afraid to speak out,” said Mogane.
Meanwhile the department of education assured to investigate the school over allegations.
The department spokesperson Sam Makhondo said they will investigate the allegations and respond on the findings.
