Schools disrupted in ga Selepe

On Tuesday schools were disrupted in ga Selepe Atok under Fetakgomo Tubatse municipality due to protest over tar road. Angry residents blocked the road with burning tyres and heavy stones calling for government to intervene on the road project that were promised to be constructed, leaving commuters stranded for work and schools.
Learners are worried about their future due to the protest as they are about to commence with their mid-year examinations. The angry residents want to know what happened to the 24 Kilometers tarred road that was promised to them over two decades. The road is between Mafeane and seelane village. Residents vowed to remain on street until their demands have been answered. Community leader Sakie Mohuba said that “they want date when the road will be constructed until then there won’t be any school.
Public works department said that the road is on their master plan and they will attend to it immediately when funds are available.
