Indigenous African language activist published his first book

“My book aims at lecturing African people on how to practice and do African norms. It also serves as alternative revision to those who are previously familiar with African proverbs,” sentiment by an athlete, an author, choreographer, fashion model, motivational speaker, an actor Matalane Makgatla hails from Mohlaletse village.
A multitalented author managed to publish his first Sepedi book titled “Sebeshong Sa Matalane” and he will soon launch it officially at Moses Mabotha Civil Hall on 11 April 2019.
Matalane said he was fortunate to be born in Mohlaletse because they still follow African customs.
“I’m the author who takes pride in my roots and culture and I will contribute in promoting of indigenous African languages,” he explained.
He believes that youth of nowadays are driven and adopting western culture.
“It’s privilege to share my knowledge with the world through Sekhukhune Times press and I’m very humbled. I strive to make African language fashionable as an indigenous African language activist,” said Matalane.
Revealing secret of his art of writing he said: “In the past 2012 I wrote many pieces and shared on Facebook and people began to encourage me to write a book,” he explained.
