Good Samaritans donate shoes to Penge Primary school
PENGE
Two good Samaritans Tebogo Matlakala and her husband Surprise Matlakala donated 37 new school shoes to needy learners at Penge Primary School on February 22.
The kids change their worn-out shoes to the newer ones on the day.
In a joined statement, the Matlakala family said, “We believe it is not a good thing for a child to go to school without proper school uniform.
“For a child to feel more welcome and accepted they must be in proper schools shoes. It builds the children’s self-esteem. High self-esteem makes children perform better at school,” they said. The donors reiterated that they did the good deed for the love of children.
The school’s management team told Sekhukhune Times that they appreciate what the family did.
“Those who received the shoes will now feel like other children, moreover, they will feel accommodated. We hope this will change the lives of these learners for the better. Praise must go to the Matlakala family,” they revealed.
