Five suspects were recently arrested at Mooihoek and GaMamphahlane villages in Driekop. The men were found in possession of suspected stolen cable. The success was orchestrated by the Modikwa Platinum Mine’s security personnel in conjunction with Driekop police.
The copper cables are believed to be worth R79 000 in street value.
According to a media statement from the Driekop SAPS, the suspects were using a white Toyota Quantum with registration CFK 414 L and a white Toyota Hilux with registration CX0 4ZB GP to transport the cable after they stole it from Modikwa Platinum Mine.
The suspects are behind bars and Driekop SAPS’s officials are currently hard at work with the investigations.
