Community demand speed humps on their area
GA-MOLOI
Angry residents at Ga Mochadi area outside Ga Moloi village embarked on strike and blocked R579 road between Jane Furse and Groblersdal with heavy stones on Saturday afternoon.
This follows a day after unknown car hit and killed a primary school learner.
The protesters were on a crime scene demonstrating and demanding the speed hump to be constructed on the road.
The marchers were adamant that speed humps would reduce hit and run accident.
“Why would one die before government do what is needed by the community? Earlier this year we made temporary humps but heavy rains demolished them and now bad incident happened. Either one would wish to evident this kind of shock again,” residents explained.
Spoke on a scene, police said regardless of the situation, it’s unlawful for the community to take law into their hands.
