Mine worker goes missing

RIBA CROSS – Police in Tubatse are requesting members of the public to assist in locating a 33 year-old man who resides at Tebele rental houses in Riba Cross outside Burgersfort.

Police said according to the complainant, her son Mahlatse Edwin Shebu, was last seen on 25 October 2018. The victim’s mother alleged that her son did not report for duty at Black Chrome mine, Ga-Maroga since 25 October 2018. The family said they tried to contact him on his cellphone but he was not reached.

Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, Limpopo Provincial Police Spokesperson, said when Shebu disappeared, he was wearing black jeans, blue golf shirt, black shoes and a khaki cap. He is tall and light in complexion.

Mojapelo said the family informed police and a search and rescue team was activated. Police joint by family and community members searched for the victim but he was nowhere to be found until to date.
