Weekend sports event brought U-15 players together who excel in football and it was meant to encourage who thought they can’t play football at an early age. This was the fourth edition of the annual sports since year has begun and it was hosted in Lenting sports ground
For that reason, participants gathered in Lenting sports ground to show off their fraternity and talents. One of the organiser Matome Phaswe said to develop football you need to start with young boys first. He said the young footballer needs their attentions.
“As organiser, we provide the trophy to partake teams to play for it. For us if we could get a champion from the participants, not only in the field but administratively, then we would have done our job,” he said.
Therefore the final whistle unconfined Tigers FC from being attacked by One Lions FC as it won 2-0. U-15 One Lions FC walked away joyfully with the trophy.
However immediately after the final whistle, the supporters expressed their concerning views which affect young boys in their community. They made several concerns including the issue of drug abuse which kills the young ones.
“We urges young boys to avoid drugs at all cost and to come and consider football as their recreation. Every week reports of malicious damage released and the suspects are the young ones. We know football saves young boys from bad things and for this reason we want them to come and play football,” they said.
