Community demand changes of water machine and pipes

GA-MMACHACHA

Angry residents of Ga Mmachacha accused Makhuduthamaga local municipality for neglecting them over decades. This follow after the community reported the old water machine which has been not operating well and pipes which licks.

Earlier this year GaMmachacha dwellers took to ANC led councillor house to demand the respond however scores of police were escorted the community to enter councillors’ yard.

According to the community even today ANC councillor is nowhere to be found to address them.

Outspoken community leader, Innocent Malapane said they felt neglected. He said his community never had better services. Innocent said the issues of water machine and pipes led them to drinks water with animals.

“Pipes disseminating water around the area are old and can’t pass clean water. The delusion of oils from the old water machine collide water before people receive them. We raised our matter in a good manner but even today has not changed,” he said.

According to the community, they don’t need much from the municipality but replace old pipe and water machine with the new one. He said the community realised that the municipality took them for granted.

“They would to come but not to fix our resources instead to lure us for next year election and we are going to vote them out,” he concluded.

The Makhuduthamaga local municipality’s spokesperson was not available for comment since Sekhukhune times reporter tried in vain to contact him.
