Ntwane school of wanders netting R20 000
DENNILTON
Morwathebe Combined School’s netball team never cease to amaze. After making history by becoming national champions in the Motsepe Foundation’s school sport championships in 2017, these rising stars made a glittering surprise by showing what they are made of in the world stage in Singapore where they represented South Africa.
During the 2018 Limpopo Sports Awards officiated by the newly elected Member of Executive Committee for Sport Arts and Culture Mme Thandi Moraka they had an upper hand for the category of School of the Year 2018 where they walked away with a cool R20 000.00 cash cheque sponsored by Absa.
As if that was not enough another oversee trip is on the cards and they will be representing South Africa at international games to be announced shortly. At the time of going to press Morwathebe Combined School was readying itself to make wonders on the international stage again. The school was fully endorsed by the Executive Committee of Limpopo Sports Confederation as the most deserving school to represent the province and the nation.
According to the Secretary-general of Limpopo Sports Confederation Mr Herbert Shiluvani the school deserves the accolades and the platforms it got because they worked hard for it.
“Imagine how they beat the so-called best schools yet they are from Ntwane, Dennilton area which is rural and to show that their school is a no-free paying school or quintile 2. But when they net golden goals in the netball court you they true defy the frame-up of their place of origin – they excel” said Shiluvani
