Place of Safety erection launch in Maserumule Park

MASERUMULE PARK – Preparations for Place of Safety erection launch at Maserumule Park in Nebo outside Groblersdal are well are under way.

The launch of the Good Sheppard Place of Safety, to be located about 3km from the local Viva filling station, is set for Saturday 13 October 2018.

The place of safety was conseptualised with the objective to have a home for orphans and disabled people in need and a rehabilitation centre for alcohol and drug addicts.

The establishment of the centre will also see victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse finding refuge, receiving counseling and help with their daily needs.

The Christian based organization, Good Sheppard NPO, behind the centre believes through religion, medication, spirituality, meditation, nutrition, physical fitness and above all love, a person is complete and can play an active role in the community.

According to the organization, the initiative will provide psychological and counseling services to communities in order to reduce rates of suicide, teenage pregnancies, drug dependency, school drop-outs, divorces and homelessness.

Ronald Mashego, NPO Founder and Treasurer, said support groups that would meet regularly would be formed to support victims.

Mashego added that career guidance programmes would also be conducted at the centre to empower the needy.

“The NPO will work closely with Department of Social Development, the private sector and other NPO of similar objectives. Beneficiaries will be given an opportunity to attend schools at nearest Primary and Secondary Schools and be equipped with skills to make them employable,” said Mashego.
