Elandsdoorn youngster Vusi gets nomination for Live Your Dream
DENNILTON – Elandsdoorn’s shining star, Vusi Mabena (26) continues to become a force to be reckoned with in the arts fraternity.
Mabena who is an actor, poet and motivational speaker was recently nominated for the Live Your Dream SA Awards.
The awards at national level are set for Luthuli House in Durban on 24 November 2018. The Dennilton youngster where is to compete in the Best Poet Award.
Mabena has been conducting motivational talk session for learners in Elias Motsoaledi and Sekhukhune District for years.
Lately he featured as cast and an extra in a number of country’s popular soapies including Generations the Legacy, Isibaya, The Queen, Skeem-Saam, Isidingo, Muvhango and Rhythm City.
Mabena was also seen on shows such as Daily-thetha, Its Gospel Time and Throw Back Thursday.
He casted in the new soapie, The River airing on DSTV channel, One Magic on weekdays at 21:30 in which he plays bodyguard of Lindiwe’s family.
The Elandsdoorn born was given a part as one of the notorious criminal in The Throne, produced by the Ferguson Production on DSTV channel 161 between Monday and Thursday at 19:00.
He stars in the movie Lesedi as a university lecturer. The movie is set for release early next year.
He said: “I want to put Elias Motsoaledi and the entire Sekhukhune district on the map. I am glad that I was nominated and hopefully I will bring the big prize to Dennilton.”
The youngster wishes people would vote for him to bring home Best Poet award. “People are requested to SMS LYD 1376 to 45633. They can vote as many as they can so that I can stand a good chance to be the winner,” said Mabena.
He concluded he was currently working on his first motivational album and book envisaged for release early in 2019.
