Young talented spelling bee coach assists learners in the competition
MANGANENG
A young lady from Manganeng village availed herself to taught high school learners on how to read, spell and pronounce words correctly in front of the peers before entering the competition of Spelling Bee. Tiisetso Mmako shown her skill when she was introducing teaching the learners to deal and reading the challenging words.
“My task was to assist learners to comprehend the words. I worked hard with learners to make them believe in themselves. It was very little bit challenging but as a coach I had to make put everyone in a comfort zone,” she said.
Tiisetso said she grouped learners to compete amongst one another to attain and build a good relationship. She said the strategy of competing assisted learners with energy to stand in front of the competitors.
“Some learners thought I was young like them because they always admire my beauty,” she teased. I do value educational system thus drives me to continue with the process of coaching,” she said.
Tiisetso said learners were preferred to be taught at their preference language.
“You need to be a critical thinker especially when it comes to dealing with negative attitudes towards learners. I made impact on many learners throughout my coaching skill,” she said.
She said support from the community was unbelievable to her as a young lady and she encourages parents to at least check books of their children on daily basis.
