The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) hosted two days second provincial people’s assembly over the weekend at Karibu Lodge in Tzaneen. The delegates welcomed firebrand leader Julius Malema and national spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi. Joseph Buthani was elected as a new provincial chairperson.
New provincial chairperson defeated Rendani Munyai who his successors. Despite the fact that fighter Munyai acted for a long period of time after former provincial EFF chair Mike Mathebe departed the party. However Munyai was elected as an additional member of Provincial Command Team (PCT) in the second assembly.
The newly elected top five members are Tebogo Seshoka (deputy chair), George Raphela (secretary), Charles Mohlala (deputy secretary) and Tinyiko Manganyi as treasury. In the second people’s assembly extra fifteen members were elected as Provincial Command Team (PCT).
The prior election Red berets leader, Julius Malema urged delegates to elect leadership who will unite the party in Limpopo. He said self-serving would not the tolerated within the organisation. He told the party representatives in Tzaneen outside Polokwane to elect people who would avail themselves anytime.
On Monday 10 September an official account of EFF on twitter released a congratulation statement. “We congratulate newly elected chairperson Joseph Buthani and Secretary George Raphela of Limpopo. Assembly happened without any incidents of disruption or violence, despite the fact that there was contestation of leadership position from officials to additional members,” said Ndlozi.
