Baroka gets a new sponsor
POLOKWANE
Absa Premiership side Baroka FC have acquired a new sponsor after signing a deal with Global Oil.Global Oil has teamed up with Baroka FC to partner on a four-year deal.The Limpopo outfit were previously sponsored by Two Mountains Funeral Services since 2016.
The club’s chairman, Khurishi Mphahlele, was delighted with the new business and pointed out that Global Oil believes in football.“It has been nice negotiations with Global. They are people who are supportive to football, more in particular the Limpopo clubs. We did not find it difficult to negotiate with them. It took one meeting and the deal was finalised. We have signed a four-year deal with them,” said Mphahlele at an event held at Meropa Casino in Polokwane.
Global Oil chairman, John Mphosi, emphasised that being local neighbours was the inspiration and that he wants to see Baroka reach new heights.“I am in Limpopo and Baroka is in Limpopo. We want to bring Baroka FC up. I want them to be on the top of the most popular clubs you know,” said Mphosi.
Baroka started this season with Two Mountains still being the title sponsor printed on their shirts. It has not been confirmed if Global Oil will be the substitute main sponsor or whether it will be an additional partner.
Baroka’s next game will see them travel to Port Elizabeth to face Chippa United on 15 September.
