TAFELKOP – A young innovators organization which uses the name, Thee Supremes, recently launched its first ever online tutoring site presentation at Abram Serote Secondary School in Tafelkop.
Thee Supremes is made up of three is run by three maestros in Tokelo Matsepe who is a Bachelor of Science student at the University of Witwatersrand, Sello Makena who is a Bachelor of Science student at the University of Cape Town and Tshepang Masha, an Analytical Chemistry student at Tshwane University of Technology.
The members told the paper that the Thee online site if free and that it was about sharing academic related information for users.
The three said the purpose of the online site was to offer mentorship, funding opportunities, tertiary information such as links to apply and tutoring.
They said it allowed for anyone who had registered to post questions and other members to offer assistance in that regard.
According to the trio the tutoring site presentation is facilitated by Thee Supremes alongside representatives from Tafelkop Career Development in Sello and Desmond Matsepe.
Tokelo Matsepe told the paper that they were aiming at improving students’ results in Tafelkop and the surrounding area.
“The initiative was taken after having looked at matric results from eight schools around the area. We then saw the need to develop an online site to reach large number without having to visit schools daily,” explained Matsepe.
