Initiation school graduates decent from the mountains
SETLABOSWANE – More than a hundred initiates who partook in winter initiation for more than six weeks school were welcomed back home in Setlaboswane village outside Marble Hall over the weekend.
The Talane family, like many others in Limpopo, celebrated the return and graduation of their son from the annual winter initiation school.
Phogole Talane, an initiation school graduate, told the paper that he was happy to be back home and most of all, he was happy to have earned his grandfather’s name, Phogole “A” Nape.
Phaahla Talane, Phogole’s uncle, said the graduates must not forget their responsibilities as students and children of their respective communities and that they ought to always put their future first by taking their studies.
This year saw a successful winter initiation period with no deaths recorded as compared to previous years.
