Six lions found killed
SEKHUKHUNE – Police have launched a massive manhunt after six lions were reported killed at local farm in Rust De Winter, Bela-Bela on Sunday 01 July 2018.
According to police, it was alleged that an employee at the farm was on his way to work when he noticed when he noticed bloodstains on the farm, which were followed by the gruesome discovery of four lions dead, with their heads and paws chopped off.
Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, Limpopo Provincial Police Spokesperson, said the other two lions were also found dead but with no missing body parts at the same spot.
Ngoepe said preliminary investigations indicated that the lions may have been poisoned to death, and that a pair of trousers, with bloodstains and takkies, was also found at the scene.
Ngoepe added suspects in the matter were unknown and there had been no arrests. Police Investigations are ongoing.
