Criminals ambush security guards and congregants at two schools
SELETENG – Criminals ambushed security guards and robbed them cash amount of money and a firearm at Ngwanamohube High School in Seleteng village outside Lebowakgomo on Monday 02 July 2018.
According to police, the four unknown suspects subsequently forced the victims inside the school premises where congregants where worshiping and robbed worshippers of cellphones and blankets.
Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, Limpopo Provincial Police Spokesperson, said after the suspects were done with their shady deeds, they handcuffed the officers, broke into one of the offices and got away with 18 laptops, valued at R126 000.00, a firearm and 15 live rounds of ammunition.
Meanwhile, in a similar incident at Matlala policing area outside Polokwane, seven suspects attacked security in the early hours of Tuesday 03 July 2018 morning at about 01:00 at Rapitsi High School in Ga-Phaudi village and robbed one of them a firearm.
Ngoepe said the suspects then handcuffed he guards and forced them to the main building where they broke into one of the offices, ransacked it and fled the scene with a 9mm pistol, seven live rounds, two cellphones, a Pepper-spray, a torch and a bundle of keys.
Saps Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba, has utterly condemned the two incidents and also expressed shock at heinous acts by the criminals who “don’t care about future of children.
“It is sad future of many pupils will be negatively affected and this should be compelling enough for anyone with information to come forward until the culprits are tracked down,” said Ledwaba.
