Arrested druglord has case postponed, police investigations continue

GROBLERSDAL – A 34 year-old drug lord who was on Friday 15 June arrested in the Groblersdal policing area has appeared before the Groblersdal Magistrates Court.

The suspect, Emmanuel Mamagolo, appeared before the court on Monday 18 June 2018 for dealing in drugs. His case was postponed to Monday 25 June for formal bail application and further police investigations.

According to police, the drug lord was arrested during a sting operation which was conducted on 15 June 2018.

Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, Limpopo Provincial Police Spokesperson, said an intensified intelligence driven operation comprising the Provincial Crime Intelligence and detectives managed to track down the 34 year-old drug lord at a rented two-roomed house just outside Groblersdal which he used to manufacture an assortment of drugs.

Ngoepe said the suspect was caught in his sleep and apprehended on the spot during which arrest, 29 wrapped balls, each containing 500 sachets of Nyaope, four balls, each containing 250 wraps of Rock – yellow, six balls, each containing 100 wraps of Rock – brown, 14 loose plastics, each containing 50 sachets of Nyaope, a packet with 25 sachets of Nyaope, a 9mm firearm with 15 ammunition, a revolver firearm with five ammunition were recovered.

Ngoepe added that the recovered drugs during the suspect’s arrest were estimated at a street value of over R1 Million.

Police investigations are still continuing.
