Woman found dead near man hanging from tree, toddler playing next to the bodies
UYSKRAAL – Limpopo SAPS continue to condemn in the strongest terms the continuous incidents of domestic violence which sometimes lead to loss of lives or injuries.
The police condemnation follows a horrific incident of murder and inquest which occurred at Uyskraal farm on the N11 road between Marble Hall and Roedan on Sunday 03 June 2018.
Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, Limpopo Provincial Police Spokesperson, said the in the process of the crime scene investigations, police found a body of a 22 year-old woman with bruises around her neck and a body of a 37 year-old man hanging from a tree, with a four months old toddler, believed to the child of either one of the deceased playing not far away from the bodies.
Ngoepe said the child, a boy, was in a healthy state and was taken to a place of safety. The motive behind the incident was unknown but domestic violence could not be ruled out.
“The identities of both the deceased will be announced as soon as their next of kin are informed,” informed Ngoepe.
Ngoepe said members of the community were still advised and encouraged that in cases of any domestic related situation, they must consult relevant local professionals for intervention rather than harming or taking lives of others.
Police investigations on the incident are ongoing.
