Two men found with drugs


The police in Ohrigstad are closing down on drug dealers, this follows the arrest of two African males on Thursday, April 19 between the road R533 Ohrigstad and Graskop .

The two suspects Themba Nkomo 35 years and Peter Shabangu 38 years were arrested after their vehicle, a Volkswagen Passat which they were driving collided with a Dump truck and the police were notified.

“As the members were busy at the scene they searched the suspect’s vehicle and discovered seven bags containing dagga weighing 102,22Kg with an estimated street value of R60-000”said Ohrigstad SAPS spokesman Sgt Kholofelo Phokane.

The police reacted swiftly and the two were immediately arrested and charged with possession of dagga.

The station commander of Ohrigstad SAPS Capt Alpheus Ramolotja commended the members for the focus they have displayed and urged them to continue rooting out all the drugs on the streets.

The two suspects appeared at Tubatse Magistrate’s Court on Friday 20 April and they were all granted a bail of R1000 each.
