AGE has nothing to do with talent. Masala Albert Legodi(88) is a proof that an old body can still house a creative mind. The 88 year old from Ga-Chuene village outside Lebowakgomo built his own motorised bike.
The former car mechanic said: “I couldn’t afford to buy a car so I decided to make my own bike, using old parts from different scrap cars. I feel like a celebrity when I travel around my kasi. Youngsters and old folks stop me all the time to take pictures of my home made motorbike,” said Legodi.
Masala said he did not let his lack of education stop him from making something of himself.
“My dream is to teach my children how to make real cars while they are still young. And by the time they go to University they will be well groomed” he said.
Emily Legodi, the Madala’s wife said: “I hope our kids will follow in my husband footsteps and take the lead.
“I used to shout at him when he left his dirty tools all over the yard but now I see there is a fortune to be made from his line of work” she said.
