Ministry launches moral restoration programme for youth
TAFELKOP – The Cornerstone Christian Ministry (CCM) in Tafelkop outside Groblersdal has launched a moral restoration programme targeted at the youth.
The ministry said the programme, Moral Restoration Through Art, is a vehicle to restore moral values within the community.
It said a huge percentage of youth in churches, especially female teenagers, made them realise the need for intervention through bringing arts and culture performances programme, which would be friendlier with them.
Prophet Jones Magaga said they have introduced Youth Christian Movements (YCM) in all their branches with the aim of giving teenagers an opportunity to also play a role in the ministry.
Magaga said YCM programme, a brain child of him and Pastor Moloto of the Apostolic Faith Mission and Pastor Ida Makgoro from the Living Word Ministries, helped them to attract more youth to the church.
The three church leaders delivered spectacular performances with their musical project called Young and Focused during the launch of the programme at Mphage Secondary school in the area.
Thandeka Mnisi, CCM board member, said they were happy to be included in daily programmes of the ministry.
Mnisi said it gave them an opportunity to attract more teenagers to the ministry and helped fellow teenagers to stay away from immoral acts and danger.
“I feel honoured to be a member of the board as it gives me an opportunity to share ideas with the elders as youth,” concluded Mnisi.
Prophet Magaga thanked the Tafelkop Local Council of Churches, especially Pastor Moloto of the Tafelkop Apostolic Faith Mission for the platform to address the youth in churches and giving leadership positions as part of making services more about young people in their daily challenges.
