EFF councilor at the Fetakgomo Tubatse local municipality Dolly Mamokgopa cares about the needy pupils. This was evident when she and the party’s members donated school shoes to needy pupils at Nyaku Secondary school and Mogale Primary school. She donated 7 pairs of the shoes to the primary learners and 11 to Nyaku secondary school.
She told this publication that the reason for the good deed was that she often saw the children walking bare footed to school.
“I am very happy to give back to my people. I did my primary and high school studies at both schools, you know they say charity begins at home.”
EFF officials were led by Joseph Makola , he indicated that they prioritizes education in their organization.
“Those pupils are the future of our country. We will work hard to make sure our kids in government schools get free shoes and uniforms when we are in power. Let’s not allow poverty to disturb our kids to get better education.”
He also thanked the learners and teachers for voting for the EFF in 2016 local elections. Makola concluded by encouraging the learners to register for the 2019 elections.
The two school’s management thanked Mamokgopa for handing over the shoes to their learners.
One of the learners, Comfort Maditsi told Sekhukhune Times that the shoes came as a huge gift to her. “I will cherish and take good care of them. Thanks to EFF, we won’t go to schools barefooted,” she said.
