Three men arrested for possession of copper wire
MAKGEMENG – Three men are behind bars for possession of copper wire. Enos Mokoena (35), Joseph Makola (56) and Julias Phelane ( 22) were arrested on January 24 after a tip-off by community members.
The suspects appeared in the Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court last Friday on charges of possession of copper wire. They were denied bail and their case was postponed to February 8.
“The police received information about the stolen copper wires and an intensive investigation led them to a shack at Makgemeng Village. Three men were found in possession of plastic bags full of copper wires and were immediately apprehended,” said Burgersfort SAPS spokesman, Victoria Maluleke.
