Suspect caught with drugs worth more than R50 000

MARESELENG – A 43 years old man was found with drugs worth more R50 000 at Mareseleng last Wednesday. Burgersfort Cluster police spokesperson Sgt Kholofelo Phokane said they aimed at eradicating the drug scourge all over Tubatse.
“In an effort to fight against the mushrooming of drugs within the cluster, the intelligence led joint operation comprising the provincial drug unit, provincial detectives
and Burgersfort K9 yielded the results when the suspect was nabbed and a large quantity of drugs were seized,” said Phokane.
The operation was conducted at Mareseleng village. It focused on hard drugs.
“During the arrest, the suspect was found in possession of 1130 sachets of Whoonga (Nyaope) valued at R56 000, 67 sachets of dagga valued
at R1500 and R7640-00 cash.
The Burgersfort cluster commander Maj Gen Masipa Joseph Maepa has expressed his happiness in this arrest. He commended the police involved for a sterling job.
