Goats burned to ashes

GA-MASHISHI – A family from Ga Mashishi is reeling with shock after 27 of their goats burned to death.
The terrible incident happened during the early morning hours of Monday.
“The family were allegedly awoken by the frantic noises from the animals and upon investigation, they found the entire kraal engulfed by a huge fire,” said Mecklenburg police spokesman, Sgt Kgalake Mampuru.
Mampuru said the fire destroyed the structure, the power lines and “burned all goats beyond recognition”.
“We are cautioning people not to resort to any acts of vigilantism and vengeance and give the police the necessary assistance to investigate the matter without any hindrance,” he added.
Police are yet to determine the motive for the incident.
Mampuru has called on residents with information to come forward. Anyone with information can contact the Crime Stop number 086-001-011.
