Another traditional leader dies at Ga Sekhukhune

Just few days after the burial of Bapedi king, Kgoshikgolo Victor Thulare III, the royal house in Sekhukhune is mourning again.
His Majesty Kgoshi Billy Malekutu Mampuru III is no more. Mampuru, of the BaPedi ba Mamone Royal Family succumbed to a short illness on Wednesday.
The news of his death, shattered locals as they were still mourning the untimely death of the king of Bapedi.
Limpopo Premier Chupu Stanley Mathabatha said it doesn't rain but it pours. Once again it is with a heavy heart that Premier Mathabatha rises to send his heartfelt and deepest condolences to the Mampuru family, relatives, the House of Traditional Leaders, CONTRALESA and Bapedi ba Mamone Traditional Authority.
"Once again, a dark cloud has enveloped the province. No words enough can express how I feel. The institution of Traditional Leadership in our province is being riddled apart by death. I send my deepest and sincere condolences to the Mampuru family, relatives and Bapedi ba Mamone following the passing on of Kgosi Mampuru Billy Mampuru III. Mabu a utswitswe" said Mathabatha.
Mathabatha called upon the entire Executive Council and all affected to respect and mourn the late Kgosi Mampuru Mampuru III, in a manner befitting to his stature.
“ He was a humble, innovative and development oriented leader. A true champion of rural development is no more.”
At the time of going to print, the family was yet to release a statement on his death. The cause of his death was also not yet confirmed.
Mampuru becomes the third traditional leader to die in the past weeks. The chief of the Mandebele in Moletlane Zebediela, Kgoshi Sello Kekana the third also passed away recently
Meanwhile Kgoshikgolo Thulare was buried on January 17. Among the dignitaries at his funeral was President Cyril Ramaphosa. Thulare also passed away after a short illness a fortnight ago. ... See more
